Job Description

The Service & Site Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of automation systems at client sites. This role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal performance of automation equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in automation systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently at various client locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Commissioning:
    • Install, configure, and commission automation systems and equipment at client sites.
    • Ensure systems are installed according to specifications, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on automation equipment.
    • Diagnose and repair issues with automation systems, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
  • Technical Support:
    • Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients, addressing and resolving issues promptly.
    • Assist clients with troubleshooting and problem-solving to ensure continuous operation of automation systems.
  • Site Management:
    • Oversee and manage site activities, ensuring compliance with project plans and timelines.
    • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including installation, maintenance, and repair reports.
    • Prepare and submit detailed service and site reports to management and clients.
  • Customer Training:
    • Provide training and support to clients on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.
    • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions tailored to client needs.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated on the latest automation technologies and industry trends.
    • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving service processes and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the automation industry.
    • Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, HMI, and automation system.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical skills and understanding of automation systems and equipment.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and manuals.
    • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the automation industry.
  • Certifications:
    • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation) are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 kg.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including industrial sites and heights.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to client sites, sometimes at short notice.
